Welcome to Mary Immaculate Girl’s High School

Mary Immaculate Girls’ High School, Kalina located opposite Our Lady of Egypt church, Kalina is a minority institution affiliated to the Maharashtra State Board of secondary and Higher Secondary Education. It is run by the Mission Sisters of Ajmer, an Indian congregation of religious sisters working for the upliftment of women.

Dear Parents, Guardians, Teachers and Students,
Welcome to www.mighs.inwebsite. As the Principal of Mary Immaculate Girls’ High School, I am very fortunate to work with many dedicated, innovative and caring staffmembers, parents and students. Each day is filled with new experiences and often it is the students who make my day a little brighter.
The Management of Mary Immaculate Girl’s High School had a dream when the school was established in 1963 at Santacruz (East), Kalina. It believed in harnessing the inborn potential of every child entering its portal and empowering herwith knowledge through wholistic education befitting the demands of the time. The school has tried its best to provide an environment conductive to the intellectual, physical, moral development of its students.
We are quite aware of the fact that today parents aspire to provide the best qualityeducation possible to their wards. Education is a process of not enlightening the mind but also of building character; it has to prepare them for the challenge of tomorrow. Every education institution established has a few noble objectives. And every organization can succeed only when its focus is on this cherished dream.
Our country is looking forward to have many young leaders, youth with ability and responsibility to lead our nation to meet the future challenges. Today, Leadership demands greater commitment to act very responsibly in the society and to the nation. I am reminded of the words of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehur, in his first speech to the nation after independence: No nationwhose people are narrow minded in throught and action can ever progress and grow great.
The heritage of our nation is very ancient; but let us not forget the fact that ours is a nation that is still young. In terms of human resources, we have tremendous man power and our educational institutions have a wider role to play and not to marginalize millions of our young children. They are indispensable in the building up of our nation.
As you navigate your way through the side discovering what we have to offer, you will find answers to the many preliminary questions you may have about our school, our academic programme and student life.
As the Principle of the school, I feel honoured and privileged to be part of an educational institution where every stakeholder is a learner and every day is an opportunity to learn and discover. I believe in upholding high standards with an absolute commitment to strive to understand and improve the educational process, using team strategies, while wholly centering on student achievement.

May God Bless you
SR. JOSITA ABRAHAM
